The Library of Skinner

A catalog of Stackchain Skinner — the consecutive-stack provocateur.

DocumentedContributor catalog

Identity, stated plainly

The archive maps Skinner to Alexander Whitestone / @rockachopa, with the historical handle @YoshishiSatoshi on the recovered 2022 posts. That mapping is the archive's dated self-identification; handle continuity was not rechecked live, and no further identity is inferred.

The catalog, ordered by significance

Ordered by documented effect on the chain and its language — the run, the naming, the successor chain — not by buy amounts, which this archive does not publish. Documentary entries are separated from oral history; testimony is never promoted by appearing beside the record without its label.

1 · Blocks 405–420 — the run that made the chain argue with itself

Documented2022-07-22
Blocks 405-420 #stackchain May the longest chain live forever!Stackchain Skinner (@YoshishiSatoshi), recovered via an archived quote post

The largest consecutive-stack run the archive holds — through block 420, secured at Bitcoin block height 740060 — and the event that produced the social-fork debate. The wording is recovered from Anthony Dessauer's quote post (Internet Archive); the original post and its two images are not held.

2 · “Skinner Stack” — the tactic named after him

Documented2022-07-22
No matter what. No matter how we address this.
Stacking this way shall now be referred to as:
Skinner Stack(n)
Skinner Stacking(v)
So the question going forth is;
Do we social fork to prevent Skinner Stacking?Anthony Dessauer, same day

Anthony's same-day post turned one player's move into shared vocabulary and a governance question. This is the moment Skinner became a verb.

3 · Burnchain — “his burnChain”

Documentedtrace 2023-01-30
Our Sunday spaces where Skinner started us off talking about his burnChain which led us into a conversation about burning Bitcoin, The Genesis Block, and Satoshi himself.Stackchain Signal · Stackchain SJ Lottery (publisher description)

The successor chain to Stackchain. The publisher credits Skinner with the opening Burnchain discussion; his own oral history recalls introducing it in a Stackchain Space. Those statements set an existence bound — they do not pin a Burnchain genesis date.

4 · Blocks 88–90 — the tactic's origin, in his own words

Oral historyrecollected 2026-09-21
It held. And I did it again and again and it became skinner stacking.Alexander, first-person oral history

His account of the run that became the named tactic: buying 88–90 and posting them in quick succession to secure the longer chain. The tactic is independently corroborated by the magazine; the specific block numbers are his recollection and are not corroborated.

5 · Block 25 — wanting it, forked twice

Oral historyrecollected 2026-09-21
I remember wanting block 25. I tried to post it. I got forked. I tried again. Forked again so I bought 88-90 and posted them in quick succession to secure longer chain. Proof of work.Alexander, first-person oral history

The trigger, in his own words — the loss that pushed him to the 88–90 run. No post or capture has been located for either attempt.

6 · Stacks 1004–1027 — the sum-and-post

Attributed2022-08-10

Café Bitcoin's archived review attributes to Skinner the explanation of stacks 1004–1027: after seeing another large buy, he summed the amounts and posted the result, which was then built on. The archive holds this as an attributed audio review, inherited from earlier work and not freshly re-verified.

7 · Attention and controversy

Documented2022-07-25
In all honestly the skinner stacks get a lot of attention, drum up a lot of controversy.community post, July 25 2022

The social effect of the style — a stress test of a rule system, argued about in public rather than settled privately. Skinner's own recollection records rage and accusations of cheating alongside others who read the tactic as rule-compliant; that is his account of the dispute, not a ruling.

8 · The tactic spreads

Documented2022-07-27
621 built on tao's skinner stack.community post, July 27 2022

Others adopted the move; the name detached from the person and became a general description. The archive records this as the point where a tactic named for one player became something others used.

9 · Into Nostr

Documented2022-12

The archive records a Skinner Nostr burnchain invitation — builder relationships crossing into Nostr as the community moved beyond a single platform.

10 · The community's later reflection

Documented
Some used to call it Skinner Stacking when you did two blocks in one post. But who wants to have their stack named after someone else?Stackchain Magazine, a conversation with Burnchainers

The magazine's own reflection on the naming — how the idea, separated from the person, became more palatable. A fitting close: the tactic outgrew the name it was given.

How this is ordered

Significance here means what the record supports: the recovered run (1), the naming and the governance question it caused (2), the successor chain he introduced (3), then the origin story he told (4–5) and the documented later traces (6–10). It is not a ranking of wealth, holdings, or total buy amounts — none of which this archive publishes.

What this page does not do

It does not link a person to buy amounts, build a leaderboard, or assert that every later Skinner profile is the same person. Identity follows the archive's dated self-identification, and the catalog keeps documentary record, attributed review, and first-person recollection visibly separate.
Part of the Stackchain community archive · the ledger. Coverage-limited: this records what the archive holds and says plainly what it does not. Sourced, testimony and uncertain material are kept visibly distinct and are never promoted by appearing here.
